Whether the data acquisition needs a fast (e.g. flutter testing) or slow (engine temperatures) sampling rate, imc’s extensive product spectrum enables a synchronous analogous data acquisition with high resolution (24 bits) and high accuracy for all measurement needs. Besides analog signals this covers a wide range of digital industrial buses like Ethernet, CAN, RS232, RS422, RS485, ARINC-429, ASCB-D, (MIL-STD-1553B coming soon). In addition, virtually any data protocol can be acquired and processed via a programmable interface.

The imc measurement product range lends itself to the analog environment as it includes customer proven, high-precision 24-bit DAS technology which serves as the basis for their flight test data acquisition systems. These are paired with the imc/JDA developed ultra-flexible digital BUS data acquisition and processing systems in order to integrate almost any device (including legacy customer supplied units) into the imc/JDA flight test measurement systems configuration.
The airborne System is based on IRIG 106 CH10 communication. Each DAS-Subsystem transfers its data to the Flight Test Processor. This main controller covers the functions of a CH10 recorder, CH7 Telemetry Encoder, GPS Synced time source, RF Transmitter and CH7 Uplink decoder. It also can decode the CH10 packets on the fly, as required, to drive the pilot display and even onboard engineering clients for data display and analysis.

Tracking antennas recover the CH7 telemetry data providing data and clock (amplified RF-output is also available) to the ground station that offers CH7 Decoding, CH10 Recording, GPS synchronized time source and data distribution for engineering client workstations. The system also supports a CH7 uplink to allow for on the fly configuration changes in the airborne system, controlled from the ground. Support is provided for existing customer equipment and CH4 Streams, customer specific data sources, existing video sources etc.
